2008 Is About To End.....What's 2009 Got To Offer Us?

Well, 2008 has been one of many changes. Not all of them have been beneficial though. In fact, for many of us, this has been a year that we would rather forget. Job losses, plant closing, the auto industry in turmoil, and don't get me started on the mortgage company foreclosures.

Let's just cut our losses and start 2009 with a clean fresh slate. We did it once before when we were born; we can do it again. Just keep a positive attitude and make lemonade when you are thrown a pile of lemons.

I am going into the new year with a new outlook on life. I feel blessed to have the love of family and friends. They may not all be within an arms throw; in fact, most of them are not. However, they love me for who I am and that is how I want it. No plastic fake persona for me or around me. I don't believe that anyone needs to put on a false front in order to be accepted by others. That is just a deadly game that many individuals play in order to feel as if they fit in. I want no part of that. Just be who you are and be happy; don't change for me or anyone else.

We only have one life to live so live it to the fullest and make happy memories that will last a lifetime.

Love to you all. Have a Safe and Happy New Year. May all your wishes and dreams come true.

Bless you.
Lisa

When the times get tough, handle them with courage and grace.

Ernest Hemingway said it best when he said "courage is grace under pressure." I couldn't have said it any better. Especially in times when our economic future appears to be grim. To many it appears that the sky is falling and there isn't a support beam in sight to hold it up. To me, that is a lot of pressure for an individual to have to handle. No wonder we are becoming a society of depressed individuals that feel they have only one solution to their problems and it is not pretty.

We all need to stand tall and have a little courage; not fear in our abilities to make ends meet and succeed during these very difficult times. I know that they are tougher than we could have ever imagined them to be; we feel that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I have felt the same way and let me tell you one thing, that is not a healthy way of thinking.

I have not been immune to the social and economic events that have occurred either. My husband works in the metal building industry and they were very hard hit by this crisis. Hard hit to the point where 64 employees from his company were laid off with no potential rehire date in the near or distant future. He has been in the business for 30 years and now he feels like a greenhorn having to start fresh in a new career along side much younger individuals that are all jockeying for the same slim pickings. You think that we are scared; darn right we are. Life as we have known it is no longer an option. A fresh start in a new career appears to be the only way to get out of this economic sledge hammer that we have gotten hit with.

So, I feel that Hemingway was right when he said, "grace is courage under pressure." Because I feel that we can all make it through these tough times if we are able to stand up, brush ourselves off, and handle this extreme pressure "gracefully" with a little added courage.

Well, that appears to be all the time I have for now. Until next time, remember to always keep smiling because you never know who will be watching and may want to smile back. :)

Have You Had Your Identity Stolen Yet?

Hi Everyone.......

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to inform you of the #1 growing crime in America today; Identity Theft. Most of us just think of identity theft as "financial," and that we have nothing worth stealing, right? Well, I am here to tell you that this the wrong attitude to have. There are five areas of our identity that can be stolen and one can even result in our death, if not discovered in time.

How many of you have:

  • handed a credit card to waiter?

  • signed a credit card?

  • supplied personal information over the internet?

  • kept your social security card in your wallet or purse?

  • left your mail in the box at your home for the carrier to pickup?

  • thrown out personal infomation without shredding it first?
If you have (I am sure that all of us are guilty of at lest one of these) and have not had your identity stolen yet, count yourself as lucky and buy a lotto ticket. Someone's identity is stolen every few minutes and that is not just financial. We can also have our social security number, our driver's license, our character, and our medical identification stolen. Nobody is immune to this type of theft. Wouldn't you sleep better knowing that you are protected should this ever occur to you? Wouldn't it be nice knowing that someone was watching out for you?

What would you do? Where would you go? Who would you turn to for help? Furthermore, can they really do what they say they will? I don't know about anyone else, but I know that our company Kroll does exactly what they say they will. Kroll will not only watch your back; they will also notify you that someone is snooping around and restore any damage that this intruder may have caused to it's pre-theft state. Now isn't that a "blanket of security" that will help you sleep better at night? I know that I can breath easier knowing that I am protected.

Check out my website to get more information and get back to me.

Oh What A Wonderful Day For Opportunities

Good Morning Everyone.......

This is going to be a great day; I can just feel it. The sun is shining on this crisp morning and there is not a cloud in the sky. It will prove to be a bit nippy all day; however, it will still play out to be a wonderful day. Of course it will be wonderful; I am alive and breathing. What more can I ask for that is so easily accomplished and readily available?

Wouldn't you like to be sitting at home right now, sipping on a cup of hot gourmet coffee. Without a care in the world except what to wear when you finally decide to leave your comfort zone. I know that I cannot wait for that day to come and I am working hard to get to that point. I want the peace of mind that financial independence will offer me. I want to punch my own time clock on my own terms instead of someone else's. I would rather work for an individual that appreciates me for who I am rather than just regarding me as a replaceable commodity. You know, a warm body in a chair that can answer the phone and work their behind off without ever receiving the credit that they deserve. I want to know what it is like to get a pat on the back for a job well done; from someone that honestly cares. Sounds like my idea of the ideal future setup; how about you?

It is time for my present work day to begin; with a mandatory staff meeting of course. I will enter the meeting smiling and look for the silver lining to any clouds that may appear. Life is better that way because it is too short for us to sweat everything. Nothing is worth high blood pressure and health issues. Just live life to it's fullest and love every minute that you are in it.

Until I "pen" again, have a great day and remember that your smile can be contagious. Try it and see what happens...............Lisa

If you are going to do anything, do it well or don't do it.

My blog site's quote of the day hits the nail right on the head. Lord Chesterfield states, "Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well." What a philosophy; wouldn't you agree? I couldn't imagine wasting my time attempting to accomplish anything if I weren't going to give it my best effort.

I went to a weekly briefing regarding my business on Tuesday evening. After listening to the spering for about an hour, all I can say is "why?" Specifically, "why not?" With Identity Theft on the rise (if you don't believe me, just check the papers, nightly news, and business magazines) at an alarming rate, I don't understand why anyone would take a chance and not be protected from this crime? I work with Kroll and they are the #1 company dealing with identity theft restoration (in all five forms of identity theft). Yes there is more than financial identity theft; you can also have your social security, your medical, your driver's license, and your character ID stolen. Kroll has been in business for over 30 years and is edified by our government and anyone that has doen business with them. I, for one, am proud to say that I work with them to ensure that even the average individual is safe from this crime.

Don't you feel like "Life" gets in the way sometimes? What I mean is, just when we think that we are sailing on smooth waters, we get thrown a curve ball and have to make decisions that we do niot feel comfortable doing (without the help of an attorney). Haven't we all been in that situation at one time or another? I know that I have; anytime that I have signed a contract for any form of legal document. Have you ever signed for a loan, a car, a lease on an apartment, or even a contract for your cell phone? Wouldn't it be nice to know that you could pick up the phone and call an attorney 24/7 on an unlimited amount of matters? The beauty of this is that "you can" and "it's affordable" too. Less than the price of a cup of coffee a day can protect you and your family from everyday "life events" that can and do occur.

Call me, I can help protect both you and your family because I care about your future and that of your family. Can you afford not to be protected? I know that I can't because it is not a matter of "if" you will need legal representation, it is "when." As of 2005, 37 million Americans sought medical care while 100 million were caught up in court cases. Doesn't that sound frightening to you? It does to me.

Think about it and I would be happy to explain it to you further should you so desire.

Have a great day and stay safe. Keep smiling and the world will smile back at you.

Business is Booming

I am back and more excited than ever about my part-time business venture. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for someone that wants to stay at home with the family and still earn extra money each month. Whether it is a little extra cash in your pocket or enough money to buy whatever you want with cash rather than on credit; my company has an opening for you. We can work around your schedule too; full-time, part-time, anytime.

The most exciting thing is that this home based business can be a legacy that you are able to hand down through two generations. That's one of the best 401K plans that I have heard of to date. All this can be yours should you decide to take a leap of faith (as I did) and test the waters for yourself. The initial cost is minimal compared to the potential residual income that can be earned on a daily basis.

I would love to have you as a fellow entrepreneur so that we can travel and spend leisure time together with our families. Doesn't that sound fantastic?

Catch ya on the flip side and remember to keep smiling so that the world smiles back at you.

Good Morning......

It is already shaping up to be a good day. The sun is shining and the temperature is a brisk 54 degrees. I am sitting in my car with the windows rolled down, enjoying the fresh air. Life is good.

I went to a business briefing last night for my part-time job and I was blown away by what I heard. This is the opportunity of a lifetime; an opportunity that nobody can afford to dismiss like trash. Who doesn't need access to legal advise on an unlimited list of topics, who doesn't need the protection provided by the #1 company offering identity theft restoration, who doesn't need to know their legal rights, and who doesn't want to have the opportunity to make all of their debts go away and become financially independent? At first I didn't think that I could afford it; however, after reading the information and checking out the websites, I realized that I couldn't afford "not" to do it.

The thought of having a legacy that can be passed down for two generations for less than a dollar a day (about the cost of a cup of coffee or less than a bottle of water a day) just amazes me. I also like the fact that you can have your will prepared with yearly updates, if needed, free of charge. Sounds great doesn't it?

I know that there are several of you out there that would love the freedom to stay at home and bond with their children while still being able to afford the finer things in life. This opportunity can be done on either a part-time or full-time basis (around your schedule); your income potential depends upon the amount of time that you are willing to spend on it.

Got to go for now; business calls.........May the sun always shine warmly on your face........Lisa

I'm Back......Have You Missed Me?

It has been some time since I have been able to access my blog site. I am glad that I am back in business. Have you all missed me? I hope so; I have missed your comments. I have been quite business over the past few months working on my business opportunities. There is one in particular that I feel the most passionate about and I would like to share it with all of you.

I work for the #1 company dealing with Identity Theft Restoration and the way that our society is today, that is something that nobody should be "without." Identity theft isn't only dealing with your finances; financial identity theft is just the tip of the iceberg here. Your social security number can be stolen, your character identity, your medical information; all are good candidates to this form of theft. Are you protected? Do you want to be? I know that I am glad that I am and I feel sorry for anyone that isn't nowadays.

How would you like to be pulled over for speeding and then placed under arrest for a crime that you didn't commit because someone else had stolen your driver's license number without your knowledge? Scary, isn't it? What about having your insurance denied when you need medical attention because someone has stolen your identity and given their medical history (including blood type, diseases, etc)? It has happened to a friend of mine and his daughter almost died because she was given the wrong blood due to this theft.

This business opportunity may or may not be one that fits you, but I am sure that you know someone that could use the extra money each month. The limit on your income here is the amount of time that you want to spend at it. I have friends in the business at every level of income from an extra $500 an month to $1,000,000 plus a year. How does this sound to you?

Check out a couple of websites and let me here you thoughts, opinions, suggestions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Have you missed me?

It has been quite some time since we last conversed. Life has had me by the tail and I have been quite busy with my new business ventures. Getting them all up and running has not been an easy task; however, they are all beginning to show great potential. Is anyone intersted?

I have just been watching history in the making at the olympics. Michael Phelps will hold the new record for the most gold medals for many years to come. My emotions welled up as Michael and his team completed the relay swimming event at a record breaking pace. We were very proud of the United States swim teams (both mens and womens performed tremendously under great pressure).

This blog will prove to be short and sweet; no rest for the weary here, my businesses are calling me. The opportunites are knocking loudly; positvely deafening.

Until we meet again, remember to keep smiling and the world will smile right back at you; it's contagious.

" I Believe," Some Thoughts on Life and............

Did anyone see the full moon last night? It was spectacular; clear sky, gentle breeze, one bright star in close proximity to the moon. I just knew that it would make for the beginnings of a wonderful day today. :)

I awoke this morning with a feeling of freedom of sorts. I guess that I have finally decided to take all the "small stuff" that I have been worrying over and just throw it over my shoulder. The past few weeks have been quite eventful for me and my family (both personal and extended families). Between illnesses, accidents, close calls, financial woes, and just plain backstabbing among acquaintances, I have come to realize that life is too short to raise my blood pressure over such matters that I can do nothing about. Sure they affect me in some way, shape, or form; however, I cannot do anything to change them. They "will continue to occur" whether I am holding the individuals hand or not. We are all placed on this earth with a number of obstacles that we must overcome; whether we like it or not. That is just a known fact. Even though we may not be able to eliminate these obstacles, we "can" control how they impact our lives (at least to some degree).

I believe that life is just another name for the path that we must follow in order to find eternal peace in the end. We must all take this journey in order to strengthen our values, self-esteem, self-confidence, and faith; all are needed to discover who we really are and who we will become in the end. We begin our lives with a clean slate; I believe that once we have lived our lives and reached our final destination, it is once again washed clean. This occurs so that our final stages of existence will be filled with a deep sense of spiritual peace, harmony, and love for all of those that have touched us with their presence throughout our lives.

Until we meet again; bless you all and make it a great day........keep smiling and the world will smile right back at you....trust me on that........Lisa

It has been a while since we've made contact....

It has been a while since we have made contact. Life has been very busy for me; launching a new business, working full-time, and taking care of my family. It hasn't left much time for myself lately. It is for this reason that I have discovered a new concept called simple-ology and it has worked wonders for me. It has allowed me to put my life into perspective and to become a lot more focused on the target that I am pursuing (financial freedom and a happier future). I have been able to clearly focus on my final target, aim directly for it, and keep firing at it until I hit it. The course that has been offered by simple-ology has been great for me.

Today I was checking out my simple-ology site and noticed a blogosphere that I really wanted to share with all of you. Check it out and let me know what you think? It's free to check out and fun to work with.

Sorry for the quick chat; but, never a dull moment for me and I am off again for another adventure. Until we meet again.....have a great day and keep smiling..........Lisa

Did You Know?

Good Morning Everyone.......

Wow...we had a storm hit about 1:30 this morning that really put the fear in me. I had visions of the storms that have hit the Midwest in the past few days. The only warning was a couple of flashes of lightning in the distance; then, without warning, the sky started flashing like a strobe light that was covered by a white sheet. You could not see the actual lighting flashes; just the continuous strobing of white light in the sky. Along with this spectacular light show was high force winds and driving rain. It was quite scary. The odd thing about this storm is that it ended just as quickly as it began. The entire episode lasted about 20 minutes.

Oh yes, back to the title of this blog. I am sure that you have heard that drinking a glass of red wine every day is good for the heart. But, did you know that drinking a glass of wine, in general, has been proven to reduce fatty deposits in your liver as well. I just read that this morning in one of my health related news feeds.

That's it for now....until we meet again.....make it a great day and keep smiling.......Lisa

Knock...Knock....Knock....Can You Hear That?

Opportunity is knocking for me (and you) today. This has been a great day. The weather has been perfect and the company has been even better. I have to say that, when given the perfect opportunity to prove oneself, you should run with it as I have today. I knew that I was a valuable asset to the practice because of my years with them and the knowledge that I possess; however, today I realized just how valuable I am. I possess all the characteristics of a supervisor, yet I am not given the title. Why doesn't this upset me, you ask? Well, if I have the title, I have the headaches too and I cannot refuse the workload placed on me. On the other hand, without the title, I am free to say "no" if I wish and leave the workload to the office manager instead. I continue to keep my sanity that way; after all, I am not getting paid to be a supervisor, so why should I take on all the headaches for one? Wouldn't you agree?

Like I said, opportunity is knocking and I am not going to turn a deaf ear to it anymore. I can hear it loud and clear and I plan on opening the door as wide as it will allow me to. Life is too short to settle for what we have when we know that we can do better for ourselves and our loved ones. I will no longer settle for a "just getting by" lifestyle; I want more and I plan on getting my piece of the pie.

Until we meet again....keep smiling and make it a great day.........Lisa

Weddings are wonderful events.....

Well, I have to say that weddings are wonderful events in more ways than one. They bring family and friends together to share in a blessed event; the uniting of best friends.

I am currently traveling home from the wedding of my niece Whitney and her beloved Jose. It was a beautiful ceremony, followed by a reception full of toe-tapping music that made everyone smile, laugh, and hug. The bride was beautiful and the groom quite handsome as they united in their first dance as the new Mr. & Mrs. Perez. They hall was filled with oos, ahs and then finally laughter, as the couple cut their wedding cake and then presented each other with a piece of it (not so delicately either :) ).

Soon, I will get back into my car and head down the road on my final leg of this journey; back to Bowling Green and then on to my home. The day promises to be a bit adventurous weather wise. I hope that it is not too adventurous. I would like to get home before it gets too severe; safe and sound.

Well, until we meet again.....have a great day and remember to keep smiling..........Lisa

It's My Birthday Today...

Well, May 12th has arrived and I decided to take the day off in order to have some "me time." It is my birthday and I need a little time for myself instead of giving it out to everyone else. Does that sound a bit selfish? I hope not; it sounds great to me.

I am sitting here at Barnes and Noble enjoying a latte and some quiet time. I spent yesterday in Louisville, Kentucky at an audition for Wheel of Fortune. I should hear something within the next 4-6 weeks on whether or not I will be invited for the final audition. It was an exciting day; very cold and wet, but exciting just the same.

Global Marketing is still my passion and I have been learning a lot about media placement (just hour important that correct placement is). There is a lot more to this business venture than I had originally expected; however, it will be all worth it in the long run. I just know it.

Just a quick post with a lot of odds and ends....must leave you now and have a little me time, remember.......Have a great day and remember to keep smiling. The world would be a much better place if we all smiled a little more......:)

It's Saturday....I Feel Like Traveling Today

Ha Ha Ha.....

With the way that gas prices are continuing to rise, I guess that I will be traveling with my fingertips rather than in a car. With oil prices at an all time high, our gas prices have sored to $3.69 per gallon on what is usually called the cheap stuff (now it is the only affordable stuff). I do a lot of traveling in my daydreams now and even that isn't cheap anymore. My daydreams just make me yearn to travel that much more.

Some day I would like to take a Mediterranean cruise. I would really like to see how the other half lives and a little pampering would be a great change of pace; wouldn't you agree? I want to become a Fortune 500er that has the world on a string; a top notch highly motivated entrepreneur that inspires others to follow in my footsteps. Why you say, do I want to take on such a great challenge? Well the reason is a simple one; it is because I am living proof that the world can be a better place if we would just quit worrying about everything and enjoy the blessings that life has to offer us. Like I have said many times before; lemons make great lemonade (just add a little sweetness that only you can provide).

Well, until we meet again.....make it a great day and keep smiling. I guarantee that others will smile back at you........ :)

Liquid Sunshine....I have my opinion on it.....

Liquid Sunshine....yes, it's raining again in Kentucky. I guess that I really don't need to complain about it after the drought that we had last year though. It will be good for our gardens and lawns. Maybe too good for our lawns; especially if we have to pay someone else to do our lawn care because we don't own a mower. I have to say that my lawn has never looked better than it does this year.

I hear that the earth is sinking in near Houston, Texas. I hope that all is well. The last report that I heard on the news was that the sink hole (just North east of Houston) was about the size of four football fields and still growing. I hope that anyone living near there is safe from harm and as far away from the sink hole as they can be. Stay safe.

A bit of exciting news to share......I have been selected to tryout for the Wheel of Fortune show. The Wheel Mobile will be in Louisville this weekend and I have been invited to tryout for the show. I am so excited. Who knows, maybe I will be picked as a contestant and be on live television when they tape the actual show in California. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Enough for now. I must get back to the grind and do a little work at the office this afternoon. Friday will not come soon enough this week (we have already had four Mondays and tomorrow is building up already to be another). I cannot wait for the weekend.

Make it a great day and remember to keep smiling.........Lisa

You Never Know What Tips You Will Find Here

Hello Everyone and Good Morning......Lisa Here.......

I am a crafter; I have many hobbies that I like to do in my spare time. I love to crochet, scrapbook, listen to good music (all genres), relax with a glass of fine wine (or a margarita), travel when I get the chance, garden, canned my homegrown goodies, and take care of my two beautiful felines. They are a handful themselves because one of them has been diagnosed with chronic renal failure and needs sub-cue doses of fluids several times a week.

For these reasons, you never know what secrets or tips that I may have to offer you here. So, my advise to you is to visit me often, feel free to leave comments, and leave me your name and email address if you would like more information of any of my postings. I would be more than happy to assist you further, if I am able to.

Well, enough for now. I will do a little research and see what tips I can come up with for tomorrow. If there is anything in particular that you may want information on, please feel free to ask and I will do what I can to comply with your request.

Have a great day and keep smiling; the world will smile right back at you. :)

Have You Ever Had A Feeling That Something Good Was Going To Happen?

I woke up this morning with an incredible feeling of peace and self-assurance that I cannot explain. I just knew that it was going to be a good day and that something good was going to happen to me today. I just hope that it wasn't just something I ate last night. :)

Seriously though; I feel happier than I have in a long time and I feel as if I can take on the world if I have to. I cannot explain this feeling, only to say that it is wonderful and I feel more in control of everything around me this morning.

Who knows, maybe one of my many business opportunities will sky-rocket through the roof today and my name will be discovered? Wouldn't that be great? I have a lot to be thankful for these days and I will be more than happy to accept any more blessings that are sent my way.

I hope that this optimistic motivation will help you to make it a great day and to keep a smile on your face. If life throws you a few lemons today, don't get mad (or upset), just make a little lemonade and offer it to the person (or persons) that tried to upset you. They won't understand why you are reacting the way you are. Keep them guessing and make it a great day.

Until we meet again....keep smiling......Lisa

The Shortest Distance Between Two Hearts Is A Smile

If you really sit down and think about it, this statement is so true. The shortest distance between two hearts is a smile. This is because a smile is so infectious and contagious. This is one time that I don't mind showing the symptoms of something. It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile. So, unless you are trying to give your facial muscles a workout (to tone then up), you would be better off smiling.

People are so suspicious out there that many will think that you are up to something if your face is glowing with positive affirmations of happiness. They will be a little skeptical of your intentions at first; however, their skepticism will melt away without even realizing that they have been infected by your smile, your optimism, and more positive outlook on life. After all, isn't it more desirable to be happy than to be miserable?

Are you smiling yet? Or do you think that my cheese has slipped off my cracker on this one? No matter, I live in a continuous state of insanity and confusion; this is what keeps me going and what actually keeps me on track. Figure that one out.

Enough for now. Make it a great day and remember to keep smiling. Infect those around you with your positive mentality and they will later thank you for it. :)

It's Monday Again...Here Goes Another Week....

Mondays are always a little hard on me because I dread going back to work after having two days off. I can't wait until the day when I can set my own hours and work on my own schedule instead of being at the mercy of a time clock and someone else's rules.

I must count my blessings though because the sun is shining and I did open my eyes this morning, take a deep breath, and jump out of bed. That may have been because it is such a "crisp" morning; a little chilly outside right now (44 degrees). :) The rain is not suppose to be here until this afternoon. Maybe it won't be that bad of a day after all.

I haven't received any e-mails from my sister in England so I suspect that she and Bob are having a great time; minus the work hours that he has to put in, of course. I cannot remember when they are due back in the states, but I am sure that we will have a lot of catching up to do then.

This one is short and sweet because I need to get in to work for a mandatory meeting because office hours. Have a great day everyone and remember to keep smiling. They whole world will be a brighter place if we all smiled a little more often. :)

Oh...What A Beautiful Morning......

The sun is shining, the air is crisp, I am breathing, and my cats are into everything. It is going to be a wonderful day; I can feel it. I hope that today's blog finds everyone else feeling just as content as I am. The only thing that saddens me today is the fact that my sister (and brother-in-law) are in England and I am unable to have my morning chats with my sis. I am so excited for them and love the fact that they have become jet-setters. I guess that I am a little jealous too; only because I am not yet in the financial position to accompany them on these adventures. Soon, though......hopefully, real soon; realistically, maybe a little longer. After all, debt elimination and financial security come first and for most.

My business ventures continue to offer me additional opportunities; some are a even more exciting than others. I am learning quite a bit about marketing, media placement, referral incentives, and receiving rewards for my efforts. This can be a very lucrative business opportunity for any of you that are interested. Check out one of my links above; just remember that the one about the main business is still under construction and is very basic at this point. The others are more exciting and informative.

Enough chatter for now. I am going to check out a couple of my investments and see how they are doing today. Remember to keep smiling and make it a great day......until we meet again, goodbye.......Lisa

Opportunities, Opportunities, Opportunities

Good Morning......
Isn't it a beautiful day. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and I have just gotten two more home business opportunities e-mailed to me. Interesting prospects too. My horoscope told me to prepare for a great day and that I should go with my positive instincts today. Well, I think that I will be taking the "bull by the horns" (that's a Taurus pun) today and going grabbing for that golden ring. I can feel good things happening today.
Even though I am being overwhelmed with potential business opportunities, I am still having a few issues with my business website. I have been using the "CoffeeCup.com" website builder (has anyone else heard of this site?) and I must be doing something wrong. I have made several changes to the initial start up page; however, every time that I upload the page to my server, the changes do not show up on my site. It still shows the initial white background page. Any suggestions? I have created a couple of great backgrounds and templates for my site; just can't get them to upload to it.
Today is going to be a great day so don't sweat the stuff that you cannot control or change and make some lemonade if someone throws you a few lemons. Remember that our "smiles" are infectious; so, keep smiling and the world will more definitely smile back at you. :)

It's a Beautiful Day Today

It is a beautiful Day. The sun is shining and it is about 77 degrees. The breeze is gently blowing through the open windows of my car as I sit under a shade tree eating my lunch. I wish that we could have more days like this. It is always nicer doing my emailing for the business when the surroundings are pleasant and not stormy. I prefer the seclusion of my car or office to the hustle and bustle of most WiFi offering restaurants around here. They are too noisy and my thoughts tend to wander when I have too much noise around me.

I see that one individual has answered my poll question. Thank you for your response. I am sure that many people feel as you do and don't really care who wins; just as long as whomever it is will be able to run the country effectively and get us out of this mess that the present office holders have gotten us into. I am all for change if it means that we can benefit from it. We have suffered the ill effects of poor decision making long enough and I feel that change is something that we all need in order to breath again. November seems like such a long ways away; however, it will be here before we know it. Then it will be time to asked two all important questions, "who are you voting for and what sealed your decision?"

That is my spin on the political arena for today. I hope that I have not offended anyone. We are all entitled to our opinion s and we are also entitled to gripe about politics; that is as long as we stand up and vote when the time comes. Otherwise, we need to keep our opinions to ourselves and the decision-making to those that are willing to stand up and be heard. That is my opinion. Does anyone else have one? Thank you.

Trust is the word of the day.

It is going to be a great day.

Can't you feel it? I have decided to make a little "lemonade" today since life has been throwing me a few lemons lately. There isn't anything that I can't do as long as I give it everything that I got and put my best foot forward. I really believe this and you should too.

I have found that not everything is as it seems and "trust" is something that needs to be earned and not just given away like candy. To many that know me, my handshake and my word are just as legal as any notarized document. I feel that trust is a key element in any relationship, transaction, or event. Lately I have found not a lot of people around me to trust. My chosen few are a close knit group and they really know who they are. Once you have my trust, you will have it for a lifetime; that is, unless you deceive me in any way or discredit yourself in my eyes.

The old expression, "keep your friends close and your enemies even closer," is one that I live by. I want to look into the eyes of my enemies and show them no fear. Pessimism is one trait that I no longer possess. I am an optimist at heart; hence, the lemonade making. :)

Enough about "trust," let's keep positive, keep smiling, make a little lemonade, and make it a great day. I know that I will. Well, until next time, let me bid you a fond farewell and hope that life keeps you happy, healthy and safe from harm...........Lisa

Widgets anyone?

I know, what is she talking about? I have been working on a couple of slideshow widgets for this site so that I can connect it to my amazon.com affiliate. I am definitely not a "widget master" by no means. In fact, whenever I think that I have the perfect set of images for my slideshow, I receive an error when I try to download them. Any suggestions?

I am happy to say the the earth has quit moving since Friday's 5.4 earthquake. We did, however, have a second afteshock about 10:30 Friday morning which measured just about the same in intensity. I kind of makes you nervous when things around you are shaking when they shouldn't be. I can't imagine how those of you on the west coast must feel when you feel the earth quiver like that. I have added simpathy for all of you. The national research professionals are telling us that this may not be the last that we hear of these tremers either. They are telling us, locally, that this could only be the beginning of something bigger. After all, we do live over a honeycomb of caves around here. Great, a little shaking and my house will be sitting in a big hole. At least we have earthquake insurance on the house. We purchased it when we built it back in 1999. You never know when it might come in handy, right? Hope it never does though.

Enough about me, how is everyone out there. I haven't read any comments on any of my previous blog sessions yet, so that either means that they haven't been vivisted yet or they aren't worthy of comment. :) Just kidding with you. I am not upset about the lack of responses; just wondering if my messages have been received or not.

I suppose that I need to get back to the business aspect of my life. I will keep working on these widgets until I get them right. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can place a ticker tape on my sites? I would like stocks, weather, and/or up to the minute feeds running continuously. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks you.

Yes, The Earth Did Move This Morning

We were awaken this morning at 4:32 CST by the ground rumbling and the house shaking. A 5.4 earthquake occurred about 41 miles NNW of Evansville, Indiana and was felt as far as 300 miles away. Well, we felt it. It scared our cats so badly that one of them (Tasha) attempted to climb up the inside of the chimney. She literally jumped into the fireplace and tried to climb up and out. Needless to say, she didn't get far though. Thomas had been curled up asleep on the bar stool next to Curtis. Just before the ground shook, Thomas stood up, put his paws on the bar top and began shaking uncontrollably. He was scared to death. The poor guy. Curtis had the front window open, so he thought that it was a semi coming down the road. He actually felt the vibrations of the ground getting closer. The chandeliers shoot and the lights flickered when the rumble finally hit us. We are okay and so far no major damage has been reported in our area. The thing that has me worried though is the fact that we live over an enormous cave system and who knows what this may have done to the the integrity of that. Cross your fingers that we stay above ground here because it wouldn't take much to collapse the honeycomb of caves.

Until we meet again; have a great day and keep smiling.........Lisa

Good Morning...The Sun is Shining...

Good Morning Everyone.....

The sun is shining and it is supposed to get up to about 72 degrees today. That will be a nice change from the 28 degrees we had the other night. The trees, shrubs, and flowers are blooming (especially the tulips). Sping is in the air and I cannot wait for the warm days of summer to arrive. I am anxiously awaiting the planting season so that I can get my garden going. One of my favorite things to do during the summer months is "canning." I love to turn my hardwork in the garden into something that I can use all winter long. My favorite recipe is one that has been passed down in my husband's family for several generations. It is a recipe for sloppy joe mix and it has gotten rave reviews from anyone that has tried it. Sorry, I was given the receipe by my mother-in-law with explicite instructions that I was not to give it away (just continue to make it) until after she passes on. I have held to that promise for 20 years now and will continue to do so.

I also make my own Kahlua that is out of this world. It tastes a lot better than the store brand (in my opinion). The first time I had it, this liquer was blended with vanilla ice cream in the best shake that I have ever had.

I love to do crafts, crossword puzzles, learn new languages, and do logic puzzles. Have to keep the mind working, you know. I just love the challanges that they offer. Try them sometime.....

Have to go for now....Make it a great day and remeber to keep smiling and others will smile back at you.......Lisa

It's Tax Day...Have You Filed?

Well, today is April 15th and we all know what that means; it's tax day. Have you filed or are you a procrastinator that has waited until the last minute to "file" for an extension? Well, this is one headache that I took care of a while ago so I don't have to stress over it.

Enough about taxes. Did anyone read yesterday's blog about my home business opportunity? If you read it and it peaked your curiosity, I have a couple of websites for you to check out. They are on my home page and I believe that they are worth a peak at by those of you that are curious. I am sure that the trip will be worth it. The site entitled Lisa's Home Business is still under construction so please bypass that link for the time being and I will let you know when it is fully up and running. Thank you.

My WebCashStore will put you in contact with eBay and Amazon.com, if you are interested in making any purchases too. You will also find a 1-800 number with my extension if you prefer to talk to a real person instead of working online. Good Luck in your ventures.

Have I turned into a pushy salesperson yet? I hope that I have not turned any of you off by sending sales pitches instead of a lot of personal chat. One of the reasons that I have opened this blog is to generate business through networking my products, services, and opportunities in home business for those of you that are tired of the 9-5 jobs that give you a lot of headaches and not much in the way of satisfaction or security. Have I hit a nerve? I am sure that I have because I have had that same raw nerve hit in me and it can really hurt. Experience has taught me that.

I guess that I have bent you ears enough for today and I have given you more than enough information to digest at one sitting. So, I will leave you with this quote from Confucius, "The Longest Journey Begins With The First Step." I agree and that is why I say, "Don't Be Afraid To Take It."

Keep Smiling and Make it a Great Day...........Lisa :)

Make Today A Great Day

Well, this is my first attempt at blogging and I am sure that I will make a few mistakes, so please bare with me until I get the hang of it. I have decided to start blogging for a couple of reasons; the first of which is to keep in touch with family and friends and the second, of which, is to network with as many contacts as possible in order to launch my home business venture.

I am so excited about the opportuntiy that I have been given to become debt free and no longer have to worry about the telephone ringing. Dave Ramsey was a great inspiration to me when I decided to take this major step. He has written a book called "Financial Freedom" that I believe is a must read for anyone that is even considering this step. Dave is a great motivator that takes youby the hand and walks you through the path to financial freedom. I have not only read his book (one of many that he suggests), I also listen to his radio talk show.

I would like to tell all of you about my great business opportunity that is only limited by the limitations that you place upon yourself. Yes, I can hear you saying that it sounds too good to be true and therefore it won't work. Well, I was skeptical at first, too. All I can say is "believe in yourself and your abilities" and you will make this work for you.

Wouldn't you like to be able to spend more time with your family and less time stressing over "why you can't?" I know that I felt that way a lot until this opportunity presented itself to me. I stressed over every penny that came into and went out of my pocket. Now that is a lot of stress for one person to handle and may I say that there were times when I did not handle it well. I became a very angry and bitter person that wasn't pleasent to be around. As a matter of fact, I didn't really care for myself that much either.

Well, all of that is changing for me (one day at a time). I am taking baby steps in the right direction and positive motivation is coming with every step that I take. Yes, I have stumbled a few times and I am sure that I will continue to stumble periodically. However, each stumble just makes me stronger and motivates me to push myself that much more. I won't lie to you able one thing here; there is money involved to get started. After all, it takes money to make money, right? You won't be sorry about this investment though; believe me, I'm not.

As I said earlier in this blog, believe in yourself and the rest will happen. I really do believe and so can you. Well, how did I do at my first attempt at blogging? Was it okay or way I a little over the top and aggressive? I hope that the later is not true. Make it a great and and remember; believe in yourself and your abilities because I believe in you. :) More about me and the business later.
